Diets don't work, but people still haven't got the memo. Every magazine sports a new diet plan, each one guaranteed to help you "drop a dress size in a week" or "eat what you want and still lose weight." You can lose weight on any of them but only temporarily. But the weight comes back once you stop the diet. It may take a few months or even a few years, but sooner or later you'll be back where you started from.
