Tamales - Relished The World Over!

When most of us think of tamales, we think in terms of the United States, and Central and South American countries as having 'dibs' on being the only tamale-loving cultures; but you might be surprised how world-renown the tamale truly is! Additionally, Europe, Cuba, the Philippines, Japan, the United Kingdom and the Caribbean all have their own version of the classic tamale. And it's quite fascinating when you think that the Spanish Explorers of the 1500's, when travelling throughout central and south America, had never seen a tamale before.
